FAS celebrates its 25th anniversary at La Comunitària
Tuesday 30 September the UAB will be holding La Comunitària and the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) will be there with a very special stand to celebrate 25 years of social actions at university. From 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. the Plaça del Coneixement will be the site of activities, games and spaces to chat about the programmes and people who have helped to make changes, and also benefited from these social actions.
The Fundació Autònoma Solidària, created in the 1999/2000 academic year, wants to celebrate a quarter of a century with the university community. It is for this reason that the autumn edition of La Comunitària will include the FAS' celebration with traditional activities and other special events.
Under the slogan “El meu verb és fer” [My verb is to do], the FAS stand invites members to discover all optinos of university volunteering and social impact programmes. Members will also be able to participate in the activity “D’aquí 25 anys, què?”, a proposal of the Environment and Environmental Justice programme to work together in imagining habitable and sustainable futures. All participants will be eligible to win special prizes!
One of the most outstanding activities will be the Human Library, a space in which to hear real stories told by students and other participants of the FAS programmes who have experiences personal and social changes and have become agents of change.
Human Library programme:
• 12:30 p.m. – Sara Essahili: participant of Campus Ítaca and enrolled in Early Childhood Education, she will speak on the road to university and the challenges of educational success.
• 1:00 p.m – Guadalupe Sicilia: volunteer of the Justice in Prisons programme, where she will share her experience in volunteering in prisons.
• 1:30 p.m. – Ali Alkharki: PhD students and beneficiary of the UAB Refuge Programme, who will speak on his story and research he conducts at university.
• 2:00 p.m. – Tomasso Marconi: student and beneficiary of the Solidarity Fund, who will speak on his cooperation project in Ecuador.
