Ceremony for the awarding of PhD degrees and extraordinary PhD awards at the UAB
On 16 May 2025 the UAB will hold the ceremony for the awarding of PhD degrees and extraordinary PhD awards at the Hotel Exe Campus, located in the Vila Universitària of the Bellaterra campus. The ceremony, organised by the Doctoral School and the Alumni UAB, will take place at 6:00 p.m.
The Doctoral School, together with the Alumni UAB, organises the annual ceremony for the awarding of PhD degrees and extraordinary PhD awards.
The event will take place on 16 May at 6:00 p.m. at the Hotel Exe Campus.
It will begin with a welcome address by UAB Rector Javier Lafuente, followed by speeches by Beatriz Ferrús, director of the Doctoral School, and Montserrat López, president of the Academic Committee of the Social Council. Montserrat Claveria, professor of the Department of Art and Musicology, will act as sponsor of the ceremony. This will be followed by the awarding of the extraordinary PhD awards, with which the UAB acknowledges the effort and dedication of young researchers and their contribution to the generation of knowledge. These awards, therefore, give value to the theses that have stood out for their contribution and progress in different areas of our University. Núria Gaja, extraordinary award winner of the Neurosciences PhD Programme, will speak on behalf of the rest of PhD graduates receiving the extraordinary award. The event will then continue with the awarding of the PhD degrees.
There will also be a performance by the UAB Choir, which will interpret the traditional “Gaudeamus Igitur” during the closing ceremony, which will be given by Rector Javier Lafuente.
