Survey to discover the effects on labour of the COVID-19 pandemic

Enquesta COVID Treball

The UAB and the Institute ISTAS have prepared an epidemiological survey to discover the effects this pandemic is having among those who were still working on 14 March, in order to understand new realities and provide research into ways of dealing with these changes. The survey can be answered in Catalan or Spanish.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, life and working conditions of millions of people have been greatly affected. The fear of being infeceted with the virus or infecting others, as well as uncertainties about workplaces, salaries and work shifts could be having a negative impact on the health of workers, and particularly on their mental health.

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Trade Union Institute of Work, Environment and Health (ISTAS), have prepared an online epidemiological survey which aims to discover the effects of the pandemic among those who, until 14 March 2020, were working, both those self-employed and salaried employees. The questionnaire is aimed at those who were later affected by an ERTE or made redundant. Thus, the results of the survey will help to understand the effects of the crisis and facilitate research into methods which can help deal with this new reality, in order to improve labour conditions and the health of workers residing in Spain.

Among the main researchers of the project are several members of the group Psychosocial Risks, Organization of Work and Health (POWAH) of the UAB, including Abert Navarro (Faculty of Medicine) and Clara Llorens (Faculty of Political Science and Sociology).

The survey can be completed in less than 10 minutes, and can be found at the following link:
