Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

To be admitted to the master's degree you must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Areas of communication (Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Journalism or similar)
  • Areas of Social Sciences (Sociology, Political Science, Law, Economy or similar) and of the Humanities (Humanities, History, Philosophy, Philology, Art or similar)
  • Areas of Engineering related to information and communication technologies (Computer Engineering in Information and Communication Technologies or similar)
  • Other similar fields.
  • To accredit knowledge of Spanish (level C1) to foreign students.

 

Selection criteria

In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places, the allocation of places will be carried out according to the following priority criteria:

  1. Academic record of the students (weighted average grade) – 70%
  2. Professional experience in the field of communication – 20%
  3. Knowledge of English (Independent User Level B1) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe – 10%

Students with prior training in a field different from communication may need to take and pass some additional training courses. Since the master’s degree focuses on audiovisual and advertising products applying a broad theoretical and technical perspective, the selection of the additional training courses includes four of the degrees offered by the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UAB (Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Organizational Communication, and Interactive Communication). The Master’s selection committee will analyze the previous studies for admission to the master’s program and determine the need to take certain additional training courses. According to Article 18.5 of RD 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality, these additional training courses cannot exceed 20% of the total credits of the master’s program. Therefore, the maximum number of additional training credits to be taken by students is 12 ECTS credits.
