Marc Balcells holds a PhD in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York, is the director of the Criminology degree program at the UOC, and author of Arqueomafia: The Tomb Raiders (La Campana, 2025). He is a UAB Criminology Alumni, class of ’07.
The Alumni of the Master's Degree in Archival and Records Managament, Marc Riera, is currently working in Luxembourg as a Business Analyst for the European Investment Fund, at the company EOWIN.
"Discover and Trigger Horizons of Opportunity" was the title of the talk given by Alfons Cornella on May 12 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Biosciences. Cornella, a theoretical physicist by training, has been dedicated to the field of innovation for the past 30 years, working to understand the implications of change in order to develop tools and systematize the innovation process. Edgersis the project he is currently working on, encouraging companies to be more rebellious and daring in the face of ongoing change.
On December 20th we celebrated in the Faculty of Sciences a commemorative event of the first 10 promotions of the degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NiN) of the UAB. The event brought together more than 100 graduates of the degree, from the promotion that began in the 2010-2011 academic year until the 2019-2020 academic year.

Javier Lafuente was elected rector of the UAB on 7 November. He took office on 21 November in an event that includes speeches by Núria Montserrat, Minister for Research and Universities; Tania Nadal, President of the Social Council and Esther Zapater, secretary General of the UAB.
Estel Malgosa, PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology, and co-founder of INARI, the first spin-off in the social field of the UAB. Graduated in Anthropology, she has a master's degree in Anthropology: Advanced Research and Social Intervention, and works on fair trade and social and solidarity economy. At this time, he began to link up with the AFIN Research group, the starting point of INARI. He then decided to return to study to focus on research and teaching, and did a doctorate in Social and Cultural Anthropology.
