Everything ready for the closing ceremony of the UAB Mentoring Programme 2025–2026
More than 150 mentoring pairs have taken part in the programme offered by the UAB to help students discover their abilities and boost their professional careers, with the support of alumni with professional experience. From October to the end of April, third- and fourth-year undergraduate students, as well as alumni in their first year after graduation, have been supported by mentors who have guided them in gaining a better understanding of the professional sector they wish to pursue and the career opportunities available to them.

More than 150 mentoring pairs have taken part in the programme offered by the UAB to help students discover their abilities and boost their professional careers, with the support of alumni with professional experience. From October to the end of April, third- and fourth-year undergraduate students, as well as alumni in their first year after graduation, have been supported by mentors who have guided them in gaining a better understanding of the professional sector they wish to pursue and the career opportunities available to them.
“The programme has helped me both personally, by improving my self-awareness, and professionally, by discovering career paths I didn’t even know existed, learning about new resources and building a network of professional connections. I feel much more prepared for my future,” says mentee Jana Olivares, a student of the Bachelor’s Degree in English and Classical Studies.
Similarly, Aina Ferré, a mentee from the Bachelor’s Degree in Genetics, considers the guidance she received from her mentor a privilege:
“Thanks to her professional experience and all the knowledge she shared with me, I feel more confident and at ease about entering the job market.”
Mentors particularly value the opportunity to connect with other professionals and with new generations of students:
“Networking among mentors helps us learn from other professionals, and intergenerational exchange is also a privilege. The large number of participants and the fact that many mentors repeat the experience show that this is a necessary and enriching initiative,” says Clara Llensa, mentor and Audiovisual Communication alumni (class of 2002).
Mentor Núria Vigil, Biology alumni (class of 1997), agrees that the UAB Mentoring Programme offers mutual benefits and has contributed to her personal growth.
“Returning to my university, building new connections, learning about young people’s perspectives and moving forward together with my mentee has been a gift. We have both gained from the experience,” says Vanessa González, mentor and Psychology alumni (class of 2002).
Mentor Sergi Gassó, Biochemistry alumni (class of 1992), strongly recommends becoming a mentor:
“Without hesitation, for everything it offers: what you gain from the training sessions, webinars, networking events and workshops, and above all, the experience of getting involved in someone’s career and contributing your talent, knowledge and experience.”
