During the month of May, the UAB Theatre will host a series of shows created by the Dance, Theatre and Music classrooms that are the result of the work carried out during this academic year. It is a good opportunity for the UAB community to get to know contemporary theatre and dance free of charge and, at the same time, to promote and raise awareness of new artistic trends.
From 17 to 21 April, the UAB launches a new initiative under the name of BiciBus UAB: volunteers that will act as guides and accompany people on bike from different cities to the UAB campus. The goal is to help new bikers discover the routes to be used to get to and from campus. There will be volunteers in Cerdanyola, Sabadell, Sant Quirze, Sant Cugat, Terrassa, Barcelona (Renfe Sant Andreu Arenal) and la Llagosta.
Àlex Figueruelo stars in the third season of the UAB's campus visits, YouTube version, a series of videos where you can find out about the exchange programmes offered by the university.
On Wednesday 1 March, at 1 p.m., the UAB Theatre will host the premiere of the play «Solitude in Stromboli. Dreams, signs and symbols», a production that delves into the parallel universes of the play Solitude by Caterina Albert and the film Stromboli by Rossellini and highlights the plot and descriptive coincidences between the Italian director's film and the novel of the famous Catalan writer.
Between February and May, the UAB Cinema Hall will host the film season "The Immortals", a biannual activity that aims to pay tribute to four films that are considered classics of cinema, the legacy of which has surpassed several generations and tastes, to the point of having achieved cultural and artistic recognition in society, as well as eternal fame and glory.
March is full of cultural activities in which the university community will be able to enjoy two plays, “Solitude in Stromboli. Dreams, signs and symbols” and “The Misanthrope”; two concerts, a musical tribute to Mike Oldfield and another that recalls the legacy of the greatest female names in music; and two screenings, Modern Times and Fermat's Room. All the activities are part of the programme of our cultural card.
The registrations for artistic workshops, courses, or the UAB Stable Groups will open on 1 February. These semester-long activities promoted by Cultura en Viu, which are part of four formation and creation classrooms (Music, Theatre, Dance and Writing), offer the opportunity to start or continue learning an artistic discipline with professionals. All proposals are available at reduced prices for university members and students can apply for academic recognition of ECTS credits. The registration period will be open until 24 February or until all places are filled.
