UAB wants to show the university’s commitment with the refugee crisis with the slogan “#UABrefugi: l’Autònoma acull”. For this reason, the 4,370 euros raised from registrations to #UABGames will be entirely diverted to the shelter programme Programa Acollida, managed by Fundació Autònoma Solidària. This programme was created back in 2016 to improve asylum seekers’ integration.

Around 950 people took part in all sorts of sports activities during one week. Activities were distributed in 4 categories: team sports, individual sports, e-sports and fitness activities. Some of them were Football 7, wheelchair basketball, League of Legends or laughter therapy.

On Tuesday 3 December, FAS received a check for the amount of money that was raised. Vice-Rector for Institutional Relations and Culture Carlos Sánchez, SAF director Andreu Benet and FAS director Jordi Prat were present in the moment of presentation of the check.

In last year’s first edition, 3,995 euros were raised and diverted to FAS awareness projects related to mental health.
