Arcadi Oliveres, professor, activist and president of the FAS Advisory Council, has left us. Our deepest condolences to family and friends.

Arcadi Oliveres, professor durant 36 anys a la UAB, activista promotor de la pau i de la justícia global, ens ha deixat avui dia 6 d'abril.
Arcadi Oliveres has been an important person at the university in matters of peace, alternative economy, global justice, among others. He has taught at the Faculty of Economics and Business, as well as at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, Communication Sciences or Veterinary Medicine. His particular way of teaching and his transgressive discourse made his classes spaces of transformation, reflection and construction of a more just society. In this interview with the FAS in July 2020, Arcadi explains how his time at the university has been and some of the main anecdotes he has experienced.
Arcadi Oliveres' link with FAS dates back to his participation in the Autonomous Solidarity Commission (prior to the FAS) and he was recently appointed honorary president of the FAS Advisory Council. Arcadi Oliveres, in addition, was an expert in North-South relations, international trade, foreign debt and defense economics, and has collaborated with the Foundation in many talks and trainings on these topics. A few weeks ago, Oliveres, despite his very delicate health, still chaired the first meeting of the Advisory Board.
