Tribute to "Música oberta" (1960-1970) with Mauricio Carrasco and the Calders Quartet

Coinciding with the celebration of European Music Day, the UAB and the Museum of History of Barcelona have organised an event entitled "Barcelona ressona. Homenatge a 'Música oberta' (1960-1970)", in which guitarrist Mauricio Carrasco and the Calders Quartet will perform pieces by composers Juan Hidalgo, Joaquim Homs, Josep Maria Mestres Quadreny, Anna Bofill Levi and Robert Gerhard. The event is related to the R&D project on music and dance influenced many processes during Franco's dictatorship and the first years of democracy: "Música i dansa en els processos socioculturals, identitaris i polítics durant el segon franquisme i la Transició (1959-1978)" led by Germán Gan Quesada, lecturer of the UAB Department of Art and Musicology. The event will take place on 21 June at 7 p.m. at the MUHBA Oliva Artés, Parc Central del Poblenou, in Barcelona. Entrance is free, but registering to attend is recommended at the Museu d'Història de Barcelona's website.
