The UAB Libraries will celebrate Open Access Week, an annual initiative held from 23 to 29 October to promote open access (OA) in the academic and research world. This year's motto is Community over commercialization, an opportunity to come together, take action, and raise awareness on the importance of community control of knowledge-sharing systems.
A conference on “Rights retention: maintain your rights to advance open science” will take place on Monday 23 October and will be directed by researchers. The conference aims mainly to present the final results of the Retain project which has analysed different institutional policies to preserve the intellectual property rights of the research output, and will also discuss key elements to take into account to apply a rights retention policy.
The event will include the presence of instructor Ignasi Labastida, PhD in Physics from the UB, head of the CRAI Research Unit at the UB, and currently Rector's Delegate for Open Science, UB. To attend please fill out this form.
