Screening of the documentary "Un refugio en las estrellas"

As part of Science Week, this documentary explains the Western Sahara conflict through the experience of an astronomy outreach project in the refugee camps of Tindouf. It is an initiative of GalileuMobile, with the collaboration of the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC) and the participation of the UAB through Cultura en Viu, and is part of the transmedia narrative Desert Stars.

In 2019, several outreach activities in astronomy were conducted in five Sahrawi refugee camps and this led to the creation of the Amanar project. Through the actions depicted in the documentary, a general vision is presented not only of the Western Sahara conflict, but also of traditional knowledge Sahrawis have of astronomy thanks to interviews with the community's older members and wise women who help delve deeper into astronomical knowledge and contemplate the representations of the cosmos.
