Rapid HIV and Syphilis Testing

On 16 November, the UAB Resource Centre will host a rapid HIV and syphilis testing event. The tests are free, confidential and provide results in a short time. The event will also offer information and guidance on sexual health and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

This initiative is part of the activities marking World AIDS Day (1 December) and aims to promote sexual health, encourage the early detection of STIs and help reduce the stigma that still surrounds HIV. The event seeks to promote evidence-based sexual health education, raise awareness of available prevention tools and highlight the importance of knowing one’s HIV status in order to make informed decisions about personal health. It also aims to create spaces for awareness and dialogue that help challenge prejudice and foster a positive, safe and respectful approach to sexuality.
