International conference on ¿Crisis, Recovery and Gender: feminist spatial perspectives¿

On 14 and 15 July the board room of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities will hold an international conference entitled “Crisis, Recovery and Gender: feminist spatial perspectives”, organised by the Geography and Gender Research Group of the UAB Department of Geography. Over 50 researchers from around the world will participate in the event.

The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcoming speech by Professor Maria-Dolors Garcia-Ramon (from the UAB organisation committee), Professor Anna Badia (director of the UAB Department of Geography), researcher Anindita Datta (from the University of Delhi) and Professor Maria Prats (from the UAB organisation committee).

Speakers will include renowned lecturers and researchers from the field of feminist geography: Martina Caretta from Lund University; Ann Oberhauser from Iowa State University; and Dina Vaiou from the National Technical University of Athens.

The conference will also include six sessions focusing on the presentation of communications related to wellbeing, sexual reproduction and care; the post-pandemic economic crisis; the environmental crisis and feminist political ecology; the housing crisis, mobility and the right to the city; social movements and feminist resistance; as well as access to communication technologies. A debate and the presentation of two new books will also form part of the conference.

Conference programme
