Inauguration of "Jordi Sabater Pi - L'art de la Ciència"

UAB Vice Rector for Communication and Culture Virginia Luzón will inaugurate the exhibition organised by Molècula, Xarxa de Professionals de la Museografia, with the support of the History Museum of Catalonia, the Ministry for Culture of the Government of Catalonia, the DIDPATRI, Research Group in Didactics and Heritage of the UB, and the UAB's Cultura en Viu. The event will include the attendance of Josep Oriol Sabater, some of the prestigious primatologist Jordi Sabater Pi.
Jordi Sabater Pi (1922-2009) was a Catalan naturalist, well-known for his discovery of the albino gorrilla who lived most of his life in the Barcelona Zoo, called Floquet de Neu, but also for his internationally renowned scientific achievements such as the discovery of tools used by chimpanzees, the culture of the Fang people, and having worked in collaboration with Dian Fossey. In this occasion, the exhibition will show Sabater Pi as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and a detailed observer of his environment, as well as his various notebooks, filled with anatomical notes, measurements, colours, portraits, tattoos and oral expressions.
