Documentary filmed in six countries: Portugal, Mozambique, India, Brazil, France and Japan. It is a projection on the linguistic history of Portuguese and the people who speak this language all over the world. Through the daily life of several illustrious and anonymous characters from four continents, this documentary shows how Portuguese has remained between different cultures around the world. The Portuguese language has united gods, melodies, climates, rhythms and even gastronomies and landscapes. A language that, after all, is the product of hundreds of processes of change, influences and successive waves of colonisers, immigrants and descendants.
This documentary is being screened to celebrate World Portuguese Language Day, which is commemorated on 5 May.
Original version (Portuguese) subtitled in Portuguese (VOSP).
Duration: 94 minutes
