Conversation with Portuguese author Lídia Jorge

On 15 April at 11 a.m., the Sala 83 of the Faculty of Education will host a meeting between the Portuguese writer Lídia Jorge and students from the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, under the title “A literatura lava com lágrimas ardentes os frios olhos da história”. Jorge was awarded the Pessoa Prize in 2005, among many other distinctions, and is considered one of the most representative voices of contemporary Portuguese literature. Her work, which reflects on memory, identity and the human condition, is marked by the legacy of Portugal's colonial and post-colonial past. Her books include O Dia dos Prodígios, Notícia da Cidade Silvestre, A Costa dos Murmúrios, O Vento Assobiando nas Gruas, Os Memoráveis and Misericórdia. The event is organised by the UAB Portuguese Language Centre / Camões, IP em Barcelona.
