The UAB Libraries will celebrate Open Access Week, an annual initiative held from 23 to 29 October to promote open access (OA) in the academic and research world. This year's motto is Community over commercialization, an opportunity to come together, take action, and raise awareness on the importance of community control of knowledge-sharing systems.
On Wednesday 25 October, a conference entitled "Research data: what you need to know" will be offered to researchers. The first part ("Do you have a dataset and want it to be FAIR? Publish it in CORA.RDR!") will talk about this multidisciplinary data repository and its main characteristics. Part two ("The Data Management Plan: how to complete the FAIR section") will explain each of the required elements and what type of information must be included.
The event will include a speech by Mireia Alcalà, head data curation technician of the Open Science Department at CSUC. Also attending will be Damià Gil, teaching and research support librarian at the UAB Library of Science and Technology. To attend please fill out this form.
