The Palau Macaya will play host to the conference entitled "Estan dissenyades les nostres ciutats per anar a peu i en bicicleta?" [Are cities being designed to move around on foot and by bike?]. The session will serve to focus on the importance of active mobility as part of urban planning and the indicators needed to measure the possibilities created in an environment designed for walking and bike riding. An interactive atlas of cities will also be presented: Atles interactiu de les ciutats per a la mobilitat activa, created by the GEMOTT research group of the UAB Department of Geography in collaboration with the University of Granada, the University of the Balearic Islands and the Universitat Politècnica de València.  

The event will include the presence of Mireia Boya, director general of Environmental Quality and Climate Change of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Urban Geography Professor Carme Miralles-Guasch, and postdoctoral researcher Oriol Marquet. Snacks will be served at the end of the conference.
