Artificial intelligence and sustainability: what opportunities and environmental challenges are we facing?

Paolo Dini, researcher at the Telecommunications Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTTC) will be given the fourth session of the conference series that explore the different aspects of artificial intelligence and its social impacts coordinated by the Computer Vision Centre (CVC). 

This conference will allow participants to reflect on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on the environment and the current climate change. Questions such as the following will be raised: What are the implications of having all the necessary computing power at our disposal? What is the real impact on energy production? What infrastructures are necessary to have a sustainable AI?
