Africa in transit: diversity, dilemmas, futures

On Friday 17 March, the conference “África en tránsito: diversidad, dilemas, futuros” will be held with the aim of debating the importance of Africa with the contribution of data and details from the international and intercultural relations sectors.
The conference will be offered by Carlos Lopes, sociologist, economist and doctor in History by the University of Paris I (Pantheón-Sorbonne). He is honorary professor of the University of Cape Town. He has held many important positions, including being appointed UN Assistant-Secretary-General (under Kofi Annan) and is currently the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa.
The event has been organised by the UAB José Saramago Chair and the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, and will take place in Aula 4 at 11 a.m. The event will be moderated by Nazir Ahmed Can, lecturer in Translation and Interpreting at the UAB.
