50th anniversary of Ràdio 4

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Ràdio 4—the RNE station that was the first general-interest broadcaster in Catalan during the Spanish Trasition—the Faculty of Communication Studies will offer a series of broadcasts on 21 October.

From 10:00 am.m to 1:00 p.m., the radio programme "El matí a Ràdio 4", presented by Xavi Freixes, will be broadcast live from the faculty's entrance hall. From 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., the Aula Magna will host a round table discussion on the role Ràdio 4 has played and continues to play within the Catalan radio ecosystem. The debate will be moderated by Esteve Crespo, director of RTVE in Catalonia, and will feature Armand Balsebre, professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising and radio historian; Sònia Urbano, director of Radio Nacional de España in Catalonia; Antoni Vidal, former director of RNE in Catalonia and retired professor from the UAB; and Gemma Nierga, presenter of the programme "Cafè d'Idees". Finally, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., "La tarda de Ràdio 4", presented by Xavi Martínez, will be broadcast live, also from the entrance hall.
