On 13 March at the 10:30 a.m. the 15th Symposium of the International Congress of University Teaching and Education: "Teaching Identity in the AI Era" will take place at the auditorium of the UPF's Poblenou Campus in Barcelona. The meeting aims to reflect on the role of teachers in an educational context marked by the incursion of artificial intelligence.
The symposium will bring together professionals from various universities to analyse how these technologies impact the transformation of university teaching. In addition, there will be a debate on the ethical challenges and opportunities posed by the use of AI in this area, from the design of subjects and assessment criteria, to the relationship between learning tasks and the use that students make of this tool to solve them. The day will begin with a conference by Manuel Area, lecturer in didactics and educational research at the University of La Laguna, who will address the new challenges of the teaching profession in the era of artificial intelligence.
The CIDUI is an initiative organised by the Catalan public universities, including the UAB. The active presence of the UAB in the organisation and in the debates demonstrates the will to continue promoting a solid, shared and responsible reflection on the role of teachers in the time of AI. This edition of the CIDUI symposium also reinforces the UAB's commitment to teaching innovation and to the joint work of Catalan public universities to rethink teaching in a time of constant technological change.
