Conference: "From Fragmented Society to Shared Hope"

The UAB Department of Anthropology and Caritas organise the FOESSA Catalunya conference, entitled "De la societat fragmentada a l'esperança compartida", which will be conducted by journalist Yolanda Marzabal from the TV3 news section on Society.
The institutional welcome will be offered at 10:00 a.m. by Salvador Busquets, president of Caritas, who will give way to the presentation of the Report on Exclusion and Social Development in Catalonia by Raúl Flores, technical secretary of the FOESSA Foundation, and Miriam Feu, general secretary and coordinator of the Observatory of Social Reality of Càritas Catalunya. In addition to them, this report was coordinated by UAB lecturer and director of the UAB Anthropology Department, Hugo Valenzuela-García, and member of the FOESSA Foundation, Thomas Ubrich.
Following that, different research articles will be presented through a dialogue with some of their authors. Thus, at 12:00 noon there will be a round table on Housing and Minimum Income; after lunch, at 2:35 p.m., another on The Inheritance of Poverty; and at 3:50 p.m . the closing session will take place, entitled The Future We Are Building.
Different research staff from the UAB will participate throughout the day (as well as researchers from other universities and entities): Margarita León, professor of Political Science and director of the Institute of Government and Public Policies of the UAB; Miranda Jessica Lubbers, professor of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the UAB (GRAFO); Sara Moreno-Colom, lecturer of the Department of Sociology of the UAB and researcher at the Centre for Sociological Studies on Everyday Life and Work (QUIT-UAB), and the Institute for Labour Studies (IET-UAB); and Hugo Valenzuela-García, professor of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the UAB (GRAFO).
The FOESSA Foundation is a private, non-profit, state-level institution founded by Caritas Spain, which aims to serve general interests in the field of research and dissemination of social issues.
