From Ravensbrück to Paris: From the end of World War II to the Schuman Declaration

The Social Sciences Library of the UAB, the European Documentation Centere and the Institute of EU-UAB Studies are organising an exhibition entitled "From Ravensbrück to Paris: From the end of World War II to the Schuman Declaration". The talk will discuss Ravensbrück, which was a Nazi concentration camp for women only and was liberated 80 years ago. It will also discuss the link between the end of World War II and the evolution of what we know today as the European Union, specifically the women pioneers in its construction. The event will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law on 15 May at 12 noon. And after the talk, the exhibition will be on display at the Social Sciences Library of the UAB. The speakers will be Assumpció Malgosa, vice-rector for research at the UAB, Francesc Vilanova, lecturer of Modern History at the UAB, Jordi Xuclà, lawyer and president of the Catalan Council of the European Movement, Lidia Ballesta, lecturer of International Public Law and Public Relations at the UAB, Carme Rei-Granger, vice-president of the association Amical Ravensbrück, Olga Cano, head of the Social Sciences Library of the UAB, and Conxi Muñoz, documentalist at the European Documentation Centre of the UAB.
