Barcelona 2019 Debate: “A new humanism for the 21st century? Specialisation vs. Generalisation”
Description:
Silvia de Bianchi, Ramón y Cajal researcher at the UAB Department of Philosophy, will participate in the seventh edition of the "Disputa de Barcelona", alongside Maciej Lewenstein, ICREA research lecturer at the Institute for Photonic Sciences. The debate, which is entitled “A New Humanism for the 21st Century? Specialisation vs. Generalisation”, will be coordinated by Alexander Fidora, ICREA research lecturer at the UAB Department of Antiquity and Medieval Studies.
De Bianchi and Lewenstein will debate on the present and future of knowledge, through key notions such as specialisation, generalisation, interdisciplinarity, the humanities, science and development, and personal fulfilment.
The event is open to the general public and will be in English.
