On May 18th, 2023, TransMedia Catalonia, a research group at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, will host a webinar in English entitled "Accessibility meets Sustainability" to discuss the relationship between digital accessibility and sustainability. The webinar will take place online from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. During the webinar, speakers will present their research on different aspects of accessibility and sustainability, including universal design, easy-to-read content, and accessible and sustainable events. Participants will also have the opportunity to delve into the concept of Green Digital Accessibility and get insights into the upcoming conference scheduled for November 30th and December 1st, 2023 (GDA 2023), which will address this topic.

At 4 pm on the same day, Anna Matamala, TransMedia Catalonia main researcher and AccessCat network director, will facilitate an online event in Catalan to present AccessCat, a network of 12 research groups in Catalonia working on information and communication accessibility.

Both events are part of the annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) initiative, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of digital accessibility in an increasingly diverse and inclusive society. TransMedia Catalonia has been participating in GAAD since 2019 and has organised various activities and events to raise awareness about digital accessibility.

To register for the events, visit the TransMedia Catalonia dedicated webpage. Registration is free: https://webs.uab.cat/transmedia/gaad/
