The conference brought together professionals and specialists from the technology sector to examine the main challenges that are arising from the evolving regulatory framework applicable to ICT companies, as well as the opportunities that the effective integration of the regulation can generate for business.

Dr. Mònica Perna Hernández delivered the conference “La governança de la IA en l’àmbit empresarial: l’estàndard de la diligència tecnològica”, in which she discussed, from a legal and business perspective, the challenges posed by the integration of artificial intelligence into corporative governance models and the importance of technological diligence as a strategic criterion for the responsible management of risks associated with the use of AI.

The conference, presented and chaired by Carlos Cosials, President of ASEITEC, also featured several speakers who have provided complementary perspectives on the main regulatory challenges that technology companies are currently facing.

· Anna Sallés, lawyer and advisor at CECOT specialised in commercial law, data protection and ICT law, and partner at NEOTICA, analysed the relationship between GDPR and the AI Act, with special attention to governance, transparency, privacy and risks.

· Gian-Lluís Ribechini, an industrial engineer, has explored in depth the concept of technical compliance and the regulatory requirements applicable to technological products.

· Sandra Soler, head of the Compliance Office at Cecot and Compliance partner at Durán-Sindreu, presented the compliance governance and its contribution to risk management and the generation of competitive advantage.

· Eva Subirà, head of Business Development and Growth at DNV, presented certification processes and their application in the business environment.

· Rosa Ortuño, CEO of OptimumTIC and vice president of ISACA Barcelona, focused her presentation on cybersecurity governance and its integration into corporate strategy.

The conference concluded with a roundtable with all the speakers, which has provided an opportunity to explore in depth the main challenges associated with the practical application of the ICT regulation. This discussion contributed to creating a space for interdisciplinary reflection on the effects of regulation on the ICT ecosystem and the need to move towards business models capable of integrating law, technology, governance, risk management and corporate strategy.
