UAB Among the Top Three Universities in Spain According to the 2026 CYD Ranking
The Faculty of Law stands out in the legal field within one of the Spanish universities with the highest number of high-performance indicators
On May 27, 2026, the CYD Foundation published the thirteenth edition of the CYD Ranking, one of the benchmark rankings of the Spanish university system. This edition analyses 84 universities (87.5% of the system), 31 fields of knowledge, and 3,909 degree programmes, based on 36 indicators grouped into six dimensions: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, internationalisation, contribution to regional development, and employability.
UAB on the national podium
The Autonomous University of Barcelona ranks among the top three universities in Spain in terms of the number of top-performance indicators, surpassed only by the University of Navarra and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. This is one of the best results in UAB’s history and confirms the strength of its academic, research, and knowledge-transfer project.
At the regional level, Catalonia is the second autonomous community with the highest number of high-performance indicators, after Navarre, and seven Catalan universities are among the top ten in Spain.
The Faculty of Law, among the leading institutions in the legal field
The 2026 CYD Ranking updates results this year in nine academic fields, including Law. UAB appears among the leading universities in Spain, alongside Pompeu Fabra University, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and the Autonomous University of Madrid.
This recognition endorses the work carried out at the UAB Faculty of Law, which offers degrees in Law, Criminology, and Labour Relations, double-degree programmes, a wide range of master’s degrees, and well-established doctoral programmes. The Faculty has a long-standing tradition of legal and criminological research and a growing network of international collaborations.
Acknowledgements to the university community
The Faculty of Law would like to congratulate the entire UAB university community and, especially, the academic staff, students, and administrative and service staff of our Faculty, whose daily dedication makes these results possible.
