“Eves of Behemoth. The Assault of National-Conservative Jurists on the Democratic Republic”
On May 7, we had the privilege of delivering the seminar “Eves of Behemoth. The Assault of National-Conservative Jurists on the Democratic Republic” at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with the participation of Professor Sebastián Martín.
A particularly meaningful session to reflect on the role of law in contexts of democratic crisis, as well as on the doctrinal and political strategies used to legitimize authoritarian drifts. The discussion brought forward fundamental questions regarding the fragility of democratic institutions and the responsibility of the legal community in the face of current challenges.
These kinds of academic spaces are essential for fostering critical thinking and connecting the history of legal thought with the contemporary challenges facing European democracies.
