The Faculty of Law hosts an event to raise awareness about the situation of Afghan women
The Faculty of Law at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona hosted the event “Afghan Women: Breaking the Silence” on March 25, a day of awareness focused on the human rights situation in Afghanistan.
Organized jointly with Amnesty International Catalonia and People Help – Refugees Support Network, the event had the objective of reporting the serious violations of rights and freedoms suffered by Afghan women under the Taliban regime and calling for an active response from the international community.
The session included the projection of a video about the country’s recent history, as well as the first-hand testimony from two Afghan refugee women, who shared their experiences and gave voice to a reality often overlooked.
The event featured the participation of various experts and professionals and was moderated by faculty members, creating a space for reflection that combined academic rigor with social commitment.
With this type of initiatives, the UAB reaffirms its commitment to the defense of human rights, social awareness, and the promotion of a critical and engaged citizenry.
