On 21 January 2026, within the framework of the CAFÈ#IA Programme, the Faculty of Law at the UAB hosted the lecture “Neurorights and the Neuroverse: Some Critical Reflections on the Intersection between Artificial Intelligence and the Nervous System”, delivered by Carlos Amunátegui, Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

The session provided a critical analysis of the legal, ethical and regulatory challenges associated with the use of AI-based technologies applied to the human brain, with special emphasis on the concept of neurorights, the protection of neural data, and the impact of these technologies on fundamental rights.

The activity was aimed particularly at students of the Master’s Degree in AI and Digital Law (MIADD), serving as a space for advanced reflection and for connecting academic training with the most current debates in digital law and artificial intelligence.
