AmicsUAB is bringing back its meeting and conversation spaces with a new format that combines knowledge, debate and networking in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
On this occasion, we will be joined by Josep Maria de Dios, former director of the Institute for European Studies, and Antoni Abat, the current director of the Institute, who will deliver the talk “Salvem Europa”.
The event will address the major challenges that Europe is currently facing, including defence and security, migration, housing, the ecological transition, social inequalities and what is the European Union doing to confront them.
The discussion will also focus on an aspect that is often absent from institutional debates: how European decisions directly affect citizens daily lives and how Europe protects our rights and freedoms.
Finally, we will argue that Europe’s future depends not only on its institutions, but also on the active engagement of its citizens.
Date: Wednesday, 21 October
Time: 7.00 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
Venue: Torre Vila-Puig, UAB campus
