We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd University Social Responsibility Conference, which will take place on June 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the main lecture hall of the Faculty of Law.
The objective we have set is to share best practices developed by different universities in the field of University Social Responsibility (USR), especially in the areas of the value chain, suppliers, and responsible purchasing and procurement.
Program:
- 10:00 a.m. Institutional welcome
- 10:15 a.m. Keynote lecture: “Shared value at the core of business strategy,” delivered by Joan Martí, Director of the Business Strategy Unit at ACCIÓ, the Catalan Government’s Agency for Business Competitiveness.
- 11:00 a.m. Responsible procurement strategies at UAB:“Legal framework for sustainable public procurement, legislation and internal policy,” by Roger Casanova, Head of the Administrative Contracting and Procurement Office.“Green procurement strategy,” by Patrícia Giménez Font, Head of the Sustainability Office.“Suppliers and human rights,” by Sílvia Altafaja, Head of the Engagement and Community Office.

- 12:00 p.m. “Institutional strategies for more sustainable purchasing and travel at the University of Barcelona,” by Marta Costoya, Head of the Procurement Office at the University of Barcelona.
- 12:30 p.m. Fair trade collaborations and certifications:“Becoming a Fair Trade University,” by Mireia Martínez, technician at La Coordi.“Experience of the University of Girona,” by Gemma Ros, technician in the Cooperation and Volunteering Unit of the Social Commitment and Career Guidance Office at the University of Girona.“UAB collaboration with the farmers’ market of the Solidarity Consumption Network,” by Josep Espluga-Trenc, professor at the UAB Department of Sociology, and Laura Calvet, researcher at the Metròpoli Institute.
- 13:15 p.m. “UPC collaboration with Electronics Watch,” by Mireia de Mingo, technician at the Innovation and Community Office of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
