Scientific-Practical Conference on Reintegration

The Autonomous University of Barcelona is organizing the Scientific-Practical Conference on Reintegration, an initiative aimed at becoming a space for the dissemination of scientific knowledge on desistance and reintegration, as well as for highlighting the policies and practices developed by prison administrations and civil society.

The conference also seeks to create a space for reflection and debate on the current challenges facing the prison system and reintegration policies.

The event is aimed at professionals from prison administrations and juvenile justice services, professionals from foundations and third-sector organizations linked to reintegration, as well as researchers interested in the field of desistance and reintegration.

Programme and venues

🔹 Monday, June 1 – Palau Macaya (Barcelona)Session dedicated to society and reintegration, featuring round tables on support in open-regime settings, community reintegration, and prison mentoring.

🔹 Tuesday, June 2 – Aula Magna, Faculty of Law, UABSession focused on research and reintegration, with the participation of international experts and discussions on juvenile justice, adult reintegration, and the legal framework.

🔹 Wednesday, June 3 – Board Room, Faculty of Law, UABInstitutional meeting between prison administrations to reflect on the challenges of the reintegration system.

The conference is organized by the UAB Research Group on “Desistance from Crime and Reintegration Policies”, the research project “Open Prison Regime, Parole and Reintegration”, the Justice and Society Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and the FIADYS Foundation.
