Presentation of the book The International Relations of the European Union (Tecnos, 2026)

On March 3, 2026, from 3 to 4 p.m., the European Documentation Centre will host the presentation of the collective book Las relaciones internacionales de la Unión Europea, published on February 5 by Tecnos and directed by Esther Barbé and Eduard Soler i Lecha.

The volume brings together contributions from researchers from the UAB and the European Foreign Policy Observatory, as well as colleagues from European universities and international think tanks. The work offers a rigorous analysis of the evolution of the European Union as a global actor in a changing international context, combining theoretical foundations with applied studies on institutions, policies and external relations.

The presentation will adopt the format of a round table entitled “Socios, aliados y adversarios: la UE en la nueva geografía del poder global” (Socios, aliados and adversarios: the EU in the new geography of global power), with the participation of Esther Barbé, Diego Badell, Patricia García Duran, Juan Pablo Soriano and Eduard Soler i Lecha.

The event concludes the commemorative programme for the 25th anniversary of the European Foreign Policy Observatory, which throughout the year has highlighted the research and transfer trajectory in the field of European foreign policy from the UAB and the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI).
