The UAB Faculty of Law at the 1st International Congress of Local Governments in Europe

The 1st International Congress of Local Governments in Europe will be held in Barcelona on 26 and 27 February 2026, a space for debate and reflection on the current challenges of municipal governance and local governance in a European context, with a hybrid modality (face-to-face and online attendance). The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and, in particular, the Faculty of Law, will have a relevant academic participation. Its teaching staff will participate in the direction and moderation of several thematic sessions: 

Dr. Judith Gifreu i Font — Academic direction of the Congress. 

Dr. Joan Amenós .lamo — moderator of the table on public services and social rights.

Dr. Marta Franch i Saguer — speaker specialized in local public procurement.

Dr. Juan Emilio Nieto Moreno — moderator at the table on models of local government in Europe.

This congress represents an opportunity for students, researchers, and public law and local administration professionals to address fundamental issues of European governance from an academic and practical perspective.
