The Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Barcelona organizes the International Seminar “Reading Legal Compilations as Literary Texts”, which will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Bellaterra Campus.
The seminar proposes an innovative approach to the reading of legal compilations, understanding them as literary and cultural texts that require a careful hermeneutic interpretation. Over two sessions, international specialists will address issues relating to Roman law, legal interpretation, the language of law and the European legal tradition.
The conference will have the participation of professors from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and other European universities, and is especially aimed at students, doctoral students and researchers in law, history of law and related disciplines.
