Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who is the placement call for?
For students who will be registering in the 4th year in the next academic year.
2. What are the essential conditions for applying for a placement?
Having passed at least all first-year subjects (60 credits) and a total of 120 credits from the first three years at the time of application.
3. Are placements paid?
Some are and some are not. Students are given this information when the call is published.
4. How many placement hours must be completed?
A total of 300 hours, to be combined with lecture schedules.

6. How many applications can be submitted?
Only one application may be submitted, with the chosen options in order of preference (up to 30).
7. How are places allocated?
Places are allocated according to academic grades (from highest to lowest) and the order of preferences indicated in the application.
8. What must I do once I have been allocated a place?
Students must:
- Self-register for the subject according to the self-registration schedule.
- Sign the placement agreement. The Academic Management Office will notify students when it is processed.
- Contact the academic supervisor once the placement has begun.
9. How many placements can I do?
Throughout their degree, students may only do one curricular placement.
10. If I am not allocated a place or have declined the one allocated, what can I do?
Opt for the self-sourced placement (Autopràcticum), as there is no reallocation period for places from the call.
11. What is the deadline for completing the placement?
In general, the periods are:
- First semester: from 1 October 2024 to 31 January 2025.
- Second semester: from 3 February to 30 May 2025.
Summer: As indicated in the placement details.
12. Must I do placements during the Christmas and Easter holidays?
No. Students are entitled to these holiday periods, but may choose to do placements during them. If the company objects, inform your academic supervisor or the Academic Management Office. The most appropriate solution is for the student to reach an agreement with the company.
13. What is the minimum number of tutorials with the academic supervisor?
Students must have at least two meetings with the academic supervisor during the placement.
14. How should I contact the company?
The company will contact the student a few days before the placement starts.
15. If I have a disagreement with the company to which I have been assigned, can I withdraw from the placement?
Yes. Students have a specific period to withdraw after the publication of the allocations.
16. What should a student do if they have a problem with the company?
If any issue arises with the company during the placement, the student can contact their academic supervisor.
17. When must the placement report be submitted?
Once the placement has finished.
18. How will curricular placements be assessed?
The student must submit a placement report and the company must submit an assessment report.
19. Can I have my work experience recognised for the curricular placement subject?
To have work experience recognised as a placement, the following must be submitted:
- Employment contract of at least 300 hours, or, in the case of self-employment, submission of supporting invoices.
- Report from the company’s director or manager where the student does their work, describing in detail the duties performed.
- Student’s employment record certificate.
- The student must submit a supporting document describing the competences acquired through the work activity.
20. If my placement is recognised for accredited work and professional experience with an employment contract, what grade will I get?
Pass (Apte).
21. Can the external work placement module be recognised with placements from CFGS (Advanced Vocational Training), dual training or extracurricular placements?
No, placements can only be recognised through work experience.
