UAB Theatre and Music groups present new artistic productions in May

On May, there UAB Theatre and Music groups will be offering many shows at the UAB Theatre after months of rehearsal. These shows are part of the Escena UAB, a theatre series by the UAB artistic groups.

On May, the UAB Theatre and Music groups will be offering many shows at the UAB Theatre after months of rehearsal. These shows are part of the Escena UAB, a theatre series by the UAB artistic groups and a good opportunity to watch a play or listen to a concert for free. This series also seeks to promote theatre and music arts as well as new artistic movements.

The UAB theatre group will be performing the play Besame Mucho, written byJavier Daulte (in Catalan) and directed by Arnau Vidal. In a crowded police station, police officers must find out the origin of mysterious boxes containing the most surprising thing.

Watch this show at the UAB Theatre on Tuesday 9 May at 6 p.m., and Wednesday 10 May at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The initiation theatre group will be presenting the play Descobrint Anton Txekhov, made up of scenes from several plays by Txekhov (The Seagull, Uncle Vanya and Three Sisters). In the play, the characters go through some of their dreams, frustrations and stories of unrequited love, half way between melancholy and irony.

Watch this show directed by Marcia Cistero on Tuesday 16 May at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the UAB Theatre.
The Springtime Concert, titled “Exsules Filii mundi”, by the UAB Music group (Choir and Orchestra) is a hymn to solidarity. The UAB Music group in collaboration with the Pharmacy Choir from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) will be performing songs by Arvo Pärt, Tarik O’Regan, Poire Vallve, Jesus Badia and Ahmet Suleyman Bilgin.

Watch this concert directed by Jesus Badia, Ahmet Suleyman Bilgin and Poire Vallve, on Monday 22 May at 1:30 p.m. at the UAB Theatre.
