‘El món casteller’ is a new activity at the UAB aimed at students who would like to learn more about the Casteller environment, one of the main traditions of Catalan culture and a very important activity in many Catalan universities. The workshop has been organized by the UAB Casteller group, Ganàpies, in collaboration with the Community Involvement Unit.

In this workshop, you will have the chance to learn how a human tower is formed, some basic safety measures and the history of the Castellersgroups at the Catalan universities. Besides attending these information sessions, you will have to complete 34 hours of rehearsal with the Ganàpies and participate in festivals of Castellers. Moreover, you will have to hand in a dossier about your experience in the workshop, in the form of a written paper, a video, or an illustrated report describing your experience in general or the activity you have enjoyed the most.

If you join this workshop you will have the chance to be part of one of the oldest UAB student societies. Moreover, you will be able to have 2 ECTS credits recognised. To register in the workshop, you need to fill in this form by 7 March. For further information, please visit the Community Involvement Unit website.
