The international SEC4 project, of which ICTA-UAB is one of the partners, is holding its final event at the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels. Organizers aim to start an ongoing conversation about the future of social economy education and the vast policy opportunities it presents.

This event is set against the backdrop of the European Year of Skills and contributes to the broader context of the European Education Area. We aim to ignite a proactive discussion involving students, educators, practitioners, and decision-makers in the social economy sector to tackle questions such as: What does the future hold for social economy education? How do we educate a new generation of entrepreneurs? How do we tackle the skills mismatch?

In this spirit, the event will:

• Open the discussion on the evolving needs and future directions of social economy education, inviting insights from a spectrum of stakeholders, including policymakers and youth representatives, to shape the policy framework and educational strategies.
• Feature interactive roundtable discussions with key policymakers, educators, social economy stakeholders, and youth, to reflect on the lessons learned and explore collaborative opportunities for future initiatives.
• Present the results of the SE4Ces project, showcasing the innovative educational materials and pilot actions carried out in university classes across Europe, which pave the way for the future of social economy education.
