ICTA-UAB Summer Day 2026

ICTA-UAB will organise its Summer Day 2026 with the aim of fostering inspiration, humility, and collegiality, while celebrating both the global reach of ICTA-UAB research and the vibrant community that makes it possible.

ICTA-UAB Summer Day 2026

• Time: From 10am - 3.30pm
• Venue: Sala Montseny (Z/022 & z/023) ICTA-UAB.

The ICTA-UAB Summer Day is an annual gathering designed to celebrate the end of the academic year and to strengthen the sense of community across the institute. It provides a space for scientific exchange, informal learning, and social interaction among researchers, technicians, administrative staff, and visitors.

The 2026 edition combines scientific inspiration, intellectual reflection, and community-building activities. The programme features a keynote lecture by our new senior faculty member, Angelos Varvarousis, an interactive session showcasing the diverse places where ICTA-UAB researchers conduct fieldwork, a collective reflection on failure and learning in scientific practice, the presentation of the ICTA-UAB Gender Equity Awards, and a closing salsa workshop.

Taken together, these activities are intended to foster inspiration, humility, and collegiality, while celebrating both the global reach of ICTA-UAB research and the vibrant community that makes it possible.

The ICTA-UAB Summer Day is open to all members of the ICTA-UAB community, including faculty, senior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, PhD candidates, technicians, visiting scholars, and administrative staff.

To maximize opportunities for face-to-face interaction, the Summer Day will be held exclusively in person. No hybrid option will be offered. This decision has been made both to avoid the technical difficulties that often accompany hybrid meetings and to foster a more engaged and dynamic atmosphere among participants.
