Watercolour plants at the Farmers' Market
Description:
Of the activities scheduled for the UAB's first Week of Culture and Human Rights and its Farmers' Market, the "Watercolour Plants" workshop will take place on 18 March at 11:00 a.m. in the Plaça Cívica. The activity offers the opportunity to experiment with painting and nature, two essential elements that combine to shape a creative community space. The workshop proposes exploring art as a tool for reflection and participation, highlighting the Plaça Cívica as a space for meeting and cultural vitality.
The Plaça Cívica will also be hosting the activity "La IA generativa contra el dret a l’aigua: el cas del CD de Cerdanyola", with representatives of the organisers. The session will analyse the environmental, social and ethical impacts of digital technologies, with special attention on how artificial intelligence can affect access to essential resources such as water. In the case of the Cerdanyola Management Centre, the socio-environmental conflict generated by the arrival of hyperscalar data linked to AI is studied. These facilities have a very high consumption of energy and water, with impacts on the territory, the climate and the local economy. The activity offers a space for critical and participatory reflection, promoting understanding of the global implications of technology and discussing the commitment to human rights and sustainability.
