Mural painting: collective art for human rights
Description:
As part of the celebration of Week of Culture and Humqan Rights, on 18 March at 12:00 noon, the mural “Collective Art for Human Rights” will be painted by the artist MAGA. It is an activity organised by the Culture Unit and the UAB University Social Responsibility project, with the support of a variety of entities including the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Communication Studies and the UAB Solidarity Foundation.
The collective mural on human rights aims to promote culture as a tool for reflecting on inequalities and promoting values such as dignity, equality and freedom. It also aims to encourage active participation from a critical perspective in the defense of human rights.

Humans and animals: a vital bond. Health, emotions and coexistence
Description:
The Seminaris a l’Abast series is a training space for dynamisation and participation, where current and interesting topics are discussed. The series includes 8 sessions lasting 2 hours each, independent of each other, and with a total duration of 16 hours. Registration can be made for the entire series or for individual sessions, and can be attended online or in person.
On 18 March, the seminar “Humans and animals: a vital bond. Health, emotions and coexistence” will take place. The relationship between people and animals will be reflected on from an interdisciplinary perspective. It will explore how this bond influences people's physical and emotional health and, specifically, the benefits of animal-assisted therapies. The event will feature the participation of Manel López Béjar, veterinarian and dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

“Accessible digital environments at the service of society” with Pilar Orero and Estel·la Oncins at the Science Carriage's Expert's Seat
Description:
Pilar Orero and Estel·la Oncins are lecturers in the Department of Translation and Interpreting and of East Asian Studies, and researchers of the UAB's TransMedia Catalonia group.
In the Science Carriage's Expert's Seat, the two researchers will talk to us about how they work to make it possible to offer communication alternatives for a diversity of needs in the digital environment, so that everyone can communicate easily and safely, and so that these technologies are compatible on a global scale.
The activity will take place on 19 March at 10:42 a.m. on the train travelling from the UAB to Plaça Catalunya.

The EU's approach to regulating strategic technologies: a reverse Brussels effect?
Description:
The inaugural conference of the UAB's EUGLOB Jean Monnet centre of excellence will take place on 19 March at 11:00 a.m. at the conference hall of the UAB Faculty of Political Science and Sociology. The conference will be dedicated to the EU's approach to strategic technology regulation.
The conference will feature the participation of Thomas Christiansen, lecturerof political science at Luiss Guido Carli University, who will give a talk entitled "The European Union's approach to strategic technology regulation: a reverse 'Brussels effect'?'", where he will address this concept in the field of European technology regulation and its impact on global governance. The activity is organised by the EUGLOB Jean Monnet centre of excellence at the UAB and the GLOBAL INTEL research group, with the support of the EU.

YUYAY, a monologue by Colombian artist Eddy Laverde
Description:
Yuyay — which in the Quechua language means memory, understood as the collection of ideas, feelings, impulses and recollections — is a one-woman show based on the true story of Colombian actress Eddy Yazmín Laverde.
The performance focuses on the situation of women who are victims of war and the looting of territories, and opens a space for peace and reflection on structural violence and its consequences.
The performance lasts 30 minutes and will be followed by a 50-minute forum, creating a space for meeting and conversation with the audience.
Booking in advance is recommended via this form.
Tickets can be acquired at the Theatre Hall's tickets office, which opens 30 minutes before the start of the performance. Admission is free but limited to the venue's capacity.

Closing ceremony of the final of the 27th Exporecerca Jove
Description:
Exporecerca Jove is an international research fair where secondary and upper secondary school students from around the world present their research projects for three days in personalised stands, disseminating and making their research known to the visiting public. On 23 March at 6:00 p.m., the Casa de Convalescència UAB will host the closing event of the final of the 27th Exporecerca Jove, in which the European and local research awards will be presented. The rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente, will present the first Exporecerca Jove award and will speak at the closing of the event.
