Recognition for the UAB Chemical Analysis Service

The technical director of the Chemical Analysis Service, Alba Eustaquio, and the head of the Spectroscopy Area, Ignasi Villarroya, received recognition for their collaboration and assistance in the Scientific Police Division of the Mossos d’Esquadra in conducting the analyses associated with their field of work.

On 25 May, the Mossos d'Esquadra Corps awarded an individual Public Commendation type A to Dr Alba Eustaquio, technical director, and Dr Ignasi Villarroya, head of the Spectroscopy Area of the Chemical Analysis Service of the UAB. This recognition was proposed by the Scientific Police Division in recognition of their collaboration and assistance in carrying out analytical work associated with their field of work.

The awards ceremony took place in the framework of the Squads Day event at the General Commissariat of Criminal Investigation in Sabadell, and was attended by the awardees, and the Vice Rector for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship of the UAB, Rosa Maria Sebastian; and the head of the Scientific-Technical Services of the UAB, Mª Angeles Benítez.

The UAB Chemical Analysis Service supports research through the use of the analytical instrumentation with which it is equipped. It carries out chemical analyses on a multitude of materials, both in research and in the control of raw materials, provides support on the resolution of analytical problems, and develops and validates specific procedures for the resolution of specific problems.
