Clara Puig to represent the UAB at the final of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition

PhD student in Medicine Clara Puig will represent the UAB at the final competition of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes", which will take place on 22 June from 5 to 7 p.m. The competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, will be streamed live.

Clara Puig will participate in representation of the UAB in the final competition of "Presenta la teva tesi en 4 minuts", which will take place on 22 June from 5 to 7 p.m. and which will be streamed live. The competition is organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation and includes the participation of all the universities from Catalonia, with cash prize of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 Euros for the three best presentations.

The UAB's representative was awarded first prize in the competition held on 18 May at the UAB's Rectorat building, which could also be seen on the UAB's YouTube channel. Clara Puig, PhD student in Medicine, is focusing her PhD thesis on cardiovascular risk and won a cash prize of 800 euros. 

The second prize, which included a cash prize of 500 euros, went to Joaquim Viñes Pujol, PhD student in Animal Production, who presented his research on complete genome sequencing aimed at fighting antibiotic resistance. 

The audience's choice, with a cash prize of 200 euros, went to Eloi Guerrero, who is studying microacoustic filters as a student of the PhD programme in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunication.

In addition to the three winners, the following people also participated in the competition with their PhD theses: Raquel Ortiz López (Microbiology), Aamir Suhail (Psychology of Communication and Change), Sofia Gaggiotti Marre (Paediatrics, Ostetrics and Gynaecology), Marcel Algueró Casas (Physics), Clara Cufí Cabré (Mathematics), Pol Sallés Perramon (Materials Science), Natalia Vila Urriza (Comparative, Political and Social History), Heng-lun Ko (Animal Production), Juan Angel Aibar Duran (Surgery and Morphological Sciences).
