Did you know that the agro-food industry is one of the most important economic sectors of any country?
Did you know that the success of an agro-food company is directly related to its quality?
If you are interested in the animal source foods sector, make no mistake about it, this is your master's degree!
This master's degree is especially designed to train highly qualified professionals in the aspects of control, assessment and improvement in the quality and safety of animal source foods. Through a fully comprehensive approach, in which actions taken from the farm to consumers are studied, this master's degree will provide you with the latest knowledge in key factors all along the food processing chain. At a practical level, you will have the opportunity to master the most innovative techniques and methodologies, which will not only be useful in the improvement of food quality, but also in the innovation and development processes of new animal source foods. All together, this will aid you in advancing in your career within a sector offering excellent professional opportunities.
The master's degree includes highly specialised lecturers, and its practical sessions are conducted at the UAB's unique facilities, such as its Service of Farms, the pilot plant for food technology and food analysis laboratories. The training is complemented with visits to companies which will allow you to discover the reality of the sector. Finally, the UAB offers you the opportunity to conduct your Final Project during a stay at one of the agro-food companies, or if you prefer, at one of the UAB's facilities located at the Department of Animal and Food Sciences or other public and private institutions and research centres.
Career optionsWith regard to career options, the globalised perspective proposed by the master's degree allows you to go on to a variety of professional alternatives. The training you acquire is especially addressed to covering the demands of private companies and public institutions directly and indirectly related to the production of food of animal origin. These companies and institutions may be related to the primary production of food (for example, farming and/or livestock rearing companies and associations, companies related to the production of raw materials for feed, to the production of zootechnical additives, etc.), or to the production and/or transformation of food at industrial levels (meat, dairy and cheese, fish, eggs and egg products, and the industry of additives, as well as distributors, etc.).
