Admission Official Master's Degree in Research in Education

Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

Access to the Master's degree is open to:

1. Graduates in Pedagogy, graduates in Social Education, graduates in Psychopedagogy, graduates in Primary Education, graduates in Early Childhood Education and teachers of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Foreign Languages, Music Expression, Physical Education and Special Education.

2. By taking bridging courses, access to the master's degree is also open to:

a.) graduates in Social and Legal Sciences subjects not mentioned above, in the following specialisations:

    Curriculum and processes of educational innovation
    Organisations' Development and Management for Change
    Inequality, research and educational action
    Teaching Social Sciences
    Teaching Language and Literature
    Art, Body and Movement

b) graduates in Arts and the Humanities subjects in the following specialisations:

    Curriculum and processes of educational innovation
    Organisations' Development and Management for Change
    Inequality, research and educational action
    Teaching Social Sciences
    Teaching Language and Literature
    Art, Body and Movement

c) graduates in Science subjects in the following specialisations:

    Curriculum and processes of educational innovation
    Organisations' Development and Management for Change
    Inequality, research and educational action
    Scientific an Mathematical Education

d) graduates in Health Sciences subjects in the following specialisations:

    Curriculum and processes of educational innovation
    Organisations' Development and Management for Change
    Inequality, research and educational action
    Scientific and Mathematil Education

e.) graduates in Engineering and Architecture subjects in the following specialisations:

    Curriculum and processes of educational innovation
    Organisations' Development and Management for Change
    Inequality, research and educational action
    Scientific and Mathematical Education

Access is also open to students with qualifications from other countries that are equivalent to one of those mentioned above, when permitted under current legislation and guidelines.

Selection criteria

Should the number of applicants be higher than that of places on offer, these will be allocated according to the following criteria:
  •     Academic transcript (65%)
  •     Knowledge of languages (20%)
  •     Cover letter stating interest in this master's degree (15%)

Complementary training

Taking into account the area of specialisation that the student is studying, the Master’s Degree Committee will assess the content of all previous studies and, based on the skills acquired, will set out the bridging course (or courses) that must be followed.

Graduates in the ambit of Social Sciences and Law, with the exception of graduates in Pedagogy, Social Education, Psychopedagogy, Primary Education and Early Childhood Education, who do not take bridging courses, will be able to access the master’s degree in the following areas of specialisation: Curriculum and Innovation Processes in Education; Development and Management of Organisations for Change; Inequalities, Research and Educational Action; Social-Science Teaching, Language and Literature Teaching, and Art, Body and Movement, taking a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 31 credits as bridging courses from the list of subjects indicated below:

Graduates in Social and Legal Sciences subjects included in paragraph 3a) have access to this Master's degree in the specialisations of Curriculum and processes of educational Innovation, Organisations' Development and Management for Change, Inequalities,  Research and Educational Action, Teaching Social Sciences, Teaching Language and Literature, and Art, Body and Movement, on taking a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 31 credits as bridging courses, choosing from the following list of subjects:

  •     Education and educational contexts: 12 ECTS credits
  •     Educational Innovation: 6 ECTS credits
  •     Design, Monitoring and Evaluation of Plans and Programmes: 12 ECTS credits
  •     Organisational Development of Education Institutions: 6 ECTS credits

Graduates in Arts and the Humanities subjects have access to this Master's degree in the specialisations of Curriculum and processes of educational Innovation, Organisations' Development and Management for Change, Inequalities,  Research and Educational Action, Teaching Social Sciences, Teaching Language and Literature, and Art, Body and Movement, on taking a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 31 credits as bridging courses, choosing from the following list of subjects:
