The delivery of the TFG Service Learning and Sustainable Development Awards is ready

The winners of the 1st edition of the TFG Awards with Service-Learning Methodology (ApS) and those of the 5th edition of the TFG Awards on sustainable development and global justice are already known. The ApS Awards will be presented on May 4, during the III ApS Conference of the UAB while the Global Justice Awards will be delivered on May 26.

TFG Award with ApS methodology

In the previous edition the ApS, “Mention” was created to reward the TFG made with this methodology, this course the ApS awards have their own entity. The TFG with ApS start from social or environmental needs detected in the environment and are carried out in collaboration with entities or public centres external to the UAB to try to solve this need.

In this edition, 11 nominations have been submitted and 8 prizes have been awarded to the best TFG of each grade. In addition, works have been selected for the best TFG in each field of knowledge, which have a remuneration of € 250 each, and which will not be known until the same day of the awards ceremony that will take place on May 4, in the Faculties of Sciences and Biosciences, within the framework of the III ApS Conference of the UAB,  (prior registration is required).

The winners of the awards of each grade will have one minute to make a speech answering the question "How has the fact of having made a TFG with ApS enriched my professional outlook?". In addition, they will obtain a diploma and a small gift from the Fundació Autònoma Solidària, which manages the ApS Office of the UAB with the support of the UAB and the Barcelona City Council.

The evaluation committee of the TFG Awards with ApS has been formed by the Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching Innovation, the ApS Office and professors linked to the ApS of different faculties.

The people awarded in this edition are: Marc Rams i Rios from the Faculty of Biosciences; Sara Jiménez Diéguez and Judith Pardo Muñoz from the Faculty of Education Sciences; Noelia Sánchez Alonso from the Faculty of Law, Laura Gabriel López from the Faculty of Economics and Business; Maria Mayolas Danis of the Faculty of Medicine; Laura Ávila Dionisio and Adriana Subirana Porras from the Faculty of Psychology; and Andrea Ramirez Ramirez from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

TFG Award on Sustainable Development and Global Justice

This award, which is convened by the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation for the 5th consecutive year, aims to promote interest in research around sustainable development and global justice within the framework of the Final Degree Projects and are open to all university studies with a maximum of one prize per degree.

To this 5th edition, 83 candidatures have been presented and up to 40 prizes have been awarded to best TFG of the different degrees, being the edition in which more works have been awarded. Additionally, of all the prizes awarded, 4 have been selected for the best TFG of each of the 4 areas of knowledge of the UAB. The latter, which have a remuneration of € 250 each, will not be known until the same day of the awards ceremony, which this year will take place on May 26 at 12 noon in the Assembly Hall shared by the faculties of Political Science and Sociology and Economics and Business.

The winners of the awards of each grade will have one minute to make a speech answering the question "How does my TFG contribute to sustainable development and/or global justice?" In addition, they will obtain a diploma and a small gift from the Fundació Autònoma Solidària, which organizes the awards with the support of the UAB and the Barcelona City Council.

The evaluation committee of these awards has been formed by the Secretary General of the UAB, the director of the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation, collaborating teachers of the 4 fields of knowledge and technical staff of the FAS.
